Hi! how do you do?? I'm julia. I live in Mackay. I'm from Korea. I've been living here for 6months. I used to work as a night cleaner in the meat factory. So i'm good at cleaning!!haha anyway, I travelled to Towsville 2months ago and stayed for 2 days in your backpakers. Townsville was really nice city so i lost my heart in there. I'm going to Townsville on 10th of september! Iwnt to know if i can pay for my stay by working for you! Could you please let me know if this is possible. Thank you for your time. I think reef lodge is one of the nicest hostel I have stayed in, I don't know what Andrew below is talkign about, Dean was nice and friendly towards me, i think andrew needs to check himself, sound like the little b**** broke the rules, he deserves to get his a** kick posting nasty things, what a wanker Admin reply: Hello Jordon, nice to hear you enjoyed staying here hope you have nice hoiday and enjoy Australia. all the best dino:-)

Hi,myself and my boyfriend are cominf=g over next month , and would like to do our farm work ASAP! are you guys a working hostel and do you arrange regional work?? any info would be great, thanks  Admin reply: Hi Guys, This is in fact my guestbook bu here goes. Seasonal work is best found in the north, Ingham Cardwell, tully Inisfail and in the southArye Bowen Homehill. They are all farming regions. All the best dino:-)

Very nice hostel well kept good value would be the nicest hostel ever apart from the owner Dean walks around the place looking for anything to complain about makes the place feel like a prison and he is the warden walks into the room without knocking without a reason just to spy on you cctv everywhere bigbrother is watching and he has nothing better to do but spy on you make up rules and will kick you out without reason or rules broken just because you don't grovel at his feet feels like a concentration camp reef lodge described in two words miserable c***  Admin reply: Hello Andrew, happy to see you have taken the time to make a post. Sadly Andrew has not told the whole story. Andrew was one of three people I kicked out for letting people into the hostel and hiding them under a bed, then lying to me saying there was no one in the room. This occurred on more than one occasion. I make no apologies for it. Our rules rules are quite clear when people check in. Basicly, No visitors, no drinking alchohol after 10-30pm and respect for the others. Seems the only people who get upset with the rules here are those who are asked to leave! As for CC TV and spying on people. "REALLY!" I have better things to do with my time. Thank you and all the best.

Fantastic time grate place center of town so easy to go anywere.The place is very clean and well managed.Your in the nighclub district so there is some noise but not that bad. I definitely recommend this hostel! It's in a great location, close to everything. The rooms and the kitchen were clean. You can relax in two common areas and it really feels like the second home. I stayed there for 3 months or so, I didn't really count my days, but i could never complained about anything. And Dean and his family are very friendly, just to let you know Thank you! One of the best hostels we have stayed in - very clean with excellent facilities and friendly staff. Very chilled with good atmosphere. The hostel is in a great location and only 10 mins from the ferry. We would definitely stay here again...just hope the next hostel is as nice..... Helloe there, I will be coming to Australia next month, I was wondering if you accept blacks as I will be with my friend Jamal and I've heard a lot of places in regional Australia don't like darkies. Can you let me know if you accept coloured people, we will understand if we can't stay in the same dorm as you may have one for whites and one for negros. Admin reply: Not sure where you come from, but in Australia you may find your self getting the crappers beaten out of your saying derogatory things about people while in Australia. You may be well be advised to stay where you are or change your attitude.
